Made entirely of bone, I made this for my mothers birthday.

This little guy's hind legs are made from the femur bones of a squirrel. His front legs are made from the tibia of a squirrel.
His body is made from mostly the cranial part of a chicken skull, the beak and lower jaw I removed. His neck is made from two lumbar vertebrae taken from a squirrel, his ears are made from the ilium bones of a squirrel. His head is made out of a chipmunk skull, I removed the nasal bones and the lower jaw. His trunk is made from the thoracic and cervical vertebrae collected from several rodents. You can't see his tail, but he has a tail made from a false rib of a mouse.
He will soon have tusks made from chipmunk teeth.

Your mum must have been so happy ! :D. I collect a scull here and there and this is very creative way of using them. How did you connect the bones ?

Thank you.
I just used glue for that, no pins or wires are required for such a small project. Pins show up too much and wires are too cumbersome.

A delightfully macabre assembly.;) Great use of the spine as a trunk, Hope the gift was well received. My mother was never too fond of the dead (or at least "mostly" dead, lol) bits and pieces I brought home from time to time.

"If elephants didn't exist, you couldn't invent one. They belong to a small group of living things so unlikely they challenge credulity and common sense. Animals such as aardvarks, hammerhead sharks and star-nosed moles. All so odd they can only be described in terms of something else, something more familiar.
Compared to them, we are primitive, hanging on to a stubborn, unspecialised, five-fingered state, clever but destructive. They are models of refinement, nature’s archangels, the oldest and largest land mammals, touchstones to our imagination.” -(Lyall Watson, Elephantoms)

"When I found the skull in the woods, the first thing I did was call the police. But then I got curious about it. I picked it up, and started wondering who this person was, and why he had deer horns". -(Jack Handey)
